BSidesDC 2018 - year six we decided to make this a bigger thing. We continued to host the con at the Renaissance on October 26-28, 2018. The big change in year six was adding a third track, while it seems like a small-ish thing we found there's a lot of details to iron out. We continued our room block promotion to give room tickets to people who stay at the hotel since it worked well. The content in the talks, contests, and villages is amazing as always. CryptKids continues killing it, adding EVEN MOAR escape rooms (including ones for the big kids). We also hosted the third year of the immensely popular hiring happy hour sponsored by ClearedJobs. We also hosted We are the Cavalry... First Contact which brought hackers and federal staff together to meet and greet and share information. Attendance jumped to 2093 attendees, 31 sponsors, and a legion of volunteers and staff/organizers who made the event possible.
