BSidesDC 2017 - Our FIVE YEAR anniversary. We continued to host the con at the Renaissance on October 6-8, 2017. This year saw a new promotion that we started to give room tickets to people who stay at the hotel in our room block. We felt this was a win-win in that people could get tickets locked in and we can keep the hotel happy using up our alloted space. The content in the talks, contests, and villages continues to blow us away. CryptKids is here to stay and added escape rooms to the mix of things to do. Adults continue to be jealous of the fun the kids get to have (more to come on this in later events). We also hosted the second year of the hiring happy hour sponsored by ClearedJobs which is extremely popular. Attendance continued to grow to 1626 attendees, 28 sponsors, and a legion of volunteers and staff/organizers who made the event possible.
